Short Story:       Since finding Weight Buddies I don't diet, I enjoy living! My story is typical of so many people. I fell into the standard routine of being a husband, work, raising kids, taking care of a house and not taking care of myself. I had somehow put on 51 pounds over the years without even trying. During the past 10 years I had gone on several diets and they worked every time! Unfortunately when I stopped dieting they stopped working. I found it difficult to stay on a diet because there were too many different foods I loved to eat and I was not willing to look at eating in any other way. Well when I checked my BMI one day and found out I was in the obese catagory I finally reached the point where I knew I had to make a positive change in my life or my body was going to make the changes for me and not for the better. Weight Buddies has been the answer for me.
Details Story:     I have lost 24 pounds so far and my goal is to lose another 15. I joined Weight Buddies with some family members and a couple of friends. We all set our own goals for the 6 Week Program and started to log in our results. Logging in the results daily really helped me stay motivated and focused knowing that everyone else was going to see what I was doing. It was also very motivating to know that I could help other people I cared about to reach their own goals and become healthier! The 6 Week Program started me off in the right direction of leading a healthy lifestyle because I knew I wasnít going to starve myself for 6 weeks. I decided it was time to become aware of WHAT and how much I was eating. At meal time going back for seconds came to an end and sodas became an occasional treat instead of the normal lunch and dinner drink. I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed drinking water, I just felt better and it was satisfying. I also wanted to get back some more energy and strength so I needed to start some physical activity. My back has bothered me for years so I didnít want to run. I started with some yoga for stretching, some swimming and biking. I started slow but as my endurance started to improve I started enjoying working out. I now try to ride a couple of times a week and swim once or twice a week. My rides are up to 35 miles now and I have set a goal of doing a 100 mile ride this year! I have done the 6 Week Program twice so far and I will continue to participate in the program anytime I need some motivation or can help motivate people I know!
